When your Jeep needs a radiator repair, then you need to visit the dealer as soon as you can. Driving with a faulty radiator can endanger your vehicle, so get it fixed as soon as possible. You’ll save yourself so much time and money if you get a repair on your radiator promptly.

1. Temperature Gauge Says Hot

If your temperature gauge starts pointing to hot, then you know you’ve got a radiator fault on your hands. You should head straight to the dealer. Tell the technicians what’s going on. They should be able to fix the radiator quickly, and you’ll be back on the road in no time. However, if the gauge has been pointing to hot for longer for a while, then it’s probably not a good idea to drive to the dealer.
If you don’t know how long you’ve had the issue, then you should pull over. Call a tow truck, because your vehicle could overheat at any moment. Steam will pour from beneath the hood, and parts of your engine could get so hot that they melt. You definitely want to avoid that.

2. Coolant Leak

You’ll usually notice a coolant leak if you see a pool of bright green, pink, or yellow liquid near your vehicle. You should head to the dealer as soon as you can, but you should get towed there if the pool is rapidly growing. You don’t want to run out of coolant while you’re on your way.
Clean up the coolant before you head to the dealer. Coolant’s sweet scent attracts animals, but it’s toxic to animals if ingested.

3. Rusty or Discolored Engine Parts

Coolant is quite cold, so it evaporates rapidly if it lands on hot engine or radiator parts. Sometimes your system will spring a leak that lets coolant land on other parts of the engine. It leaves a little spot of discoloration after it bubbles away. These discolored parts will start rusting soon afterward. If you see any of these rusty or discolored spots, then you should head to a dealer. You have some kind of coolant leak, and you need to get it fixed.

4. Coolant Level Dropping

This point is yet another sign that you have some kind of leak in your radiator. If your coolant level is rapidly dropping, then you know something is wrong. You may not notice a pool of coolant or any discolored spots, though, so it’s most likely a slow leak that occurs while you’re driving. Visit your dealer, as they’ll be able to find and fix the leak for you. If something else is causing the drop in your coolant level, then the technician will find and fix that, too.
