Established in 1959 and comprising six separate sections, Gunpowder Falls State Park offers endless opportunities for water lovers. The Hammerman Area of this park features a 1,500-foot swimming beach and a small boat ramp suitable for unpowered boats such as kayaks and canoes. Driving to this public recreation area from Aberdeen takes about half an hour.
