Aberdeen, MD has hot summers and generally mild winters, and this favorable weather gives us numerous opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Communing with nature, whether walking, sailing, or quietly enjoying a pleasant day in the sunshine is an excellent way to recharge. We have a large variety of outdoor activities available, and we’ve listed some of our favorites that you’re sure to enjoy.

Havre de Grace Boardwalk

The boardwalk is just a few miles northeast of Aberdeen, in the lovely town of Havre de Grace. It’s the perfect venue for a stroll, as the Havre de Grace Boardwalk winds its way from Tydings Park to the Concord Point Lighthouse. Overhead you have to chance to see some of the amazing variety of birdlife, including bald eagles, osprey, geese, and ducks.

Benches are strategically placed along the route, and you can peacefully rest and enjoy the tranquility at this site where the Susquehanna River joins the Chesapeake Bay. Plaques located on the boardwalk explain the historical significance of the area, and the Maritime Museum and Decoy Museum are located next to the boardwalk.

Skydive Baltimore

Skydive, located at 3536 Aldino Road, Hangar 13, Churchville is the place for any adrenaline junky. They have taught skydiving to over 14,000 in 38 years, and they specialize in tandem skydiving. If you have never tried skydiving, we recommend trying it. The training is quick and easy, and the instructor jumps with you so you can just focus on the experience and the incredible views.

The views are breathtaking, and as you float down you are treated to views of Baltimore, the Susquehanna River, and the Chesapeake Bay. The jump instructors are highly trained and very friendly, and they also offer video and still photography packages so you can remember the experience forever.
